The Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University successfully completed its 10th anniversary Baku Summer Energy School, held during July 10-22, 2016. The annual two-week certificate program for mid-career energy professionals, organized in partnership with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), with the sponsorships of British Petroleum in Azerbaijan and ExxonMobil, brought together 46 participants.

On November 4-6, 2016, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment (CCEE) of ADA University in partnership with GIZ successfully completed the 2nd Baku Autumn Environmental School (BAES), a three-day certificate program based on the Harvard case methodology for mid-career professionals in the field of the environment, including ecology, agriculture, eco-tourism, land management, etc.

On 22 September 2016, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University hosted a presentation on Statoil’s “Energy Perspectives 2016: Long-Term Macro and Market Outlook”, in the format of a roundtable discussion followed by a discussion. Mr. Eirik Wærness, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Statoil, presented scenarios for 2040.

On 13 May 2016, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University organized an event with Spencer Dale, BP’s Group Chief Economist, who is responsible for advising BP's Board and executive team on economic drivers and trends in global energy.

On March 17, 2016, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment and Tamiz Shahar JSC announced results of the “Green solutions” essay contest. The essay contest organized for ADA students and covered topics such as “Who is responsible for environmental health?”, “Waste sorting. Start with your house”, “What is ‘green thinking’?” and “We and Ecology: Time to help”.
March 15, 2016
On March 15, 2016, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University in partnership with the Coca-Cola company organized a tree-planting campaign at Dada Qorgud Park. The initiative was in honor of the late General Director of the Coca-Cola Bottlers company, Cem Becel, who has been so instrumental in starting “Plant a Tree: Give a Gift to Life” project between ADA and Coca-Cola Corporation, which envisages planting 100,000 trees in Azerbaijan until 2020.
