On December 3, 2014, CCEE held a round-table discussion with Norwegian researcher Dr. Arild Moe, entitled “Russian Gas: New Internal and External Challenges.” The event became another seminar organized within the “Norwegian Energy Experts in Azerbaijan” project, a year-long partnership program with the Norwegian Embassy involving exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences among the energy scholars and practitioners between the two countries. During the seminar, Dr. Moe, Deputy Director and Senior Research Fellow at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute, talked about past, current and future developments in the Russian oil and gas sector. He also touched upon Gazprom’s recent decision to cancel the South Stream project, and discussed possible outcomes and developments in this regard. The event was followed by a lively discussion and Q&A session.
