Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University successfully completed its 9th Baku Summer Energy School (BSES)

On July 17, 2015, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment of ADA University successfully completed its 9th Baku Summer Energy School (BSES), an annual two-week certificate program for energy professionals arranged in partnership with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

BSES 2015 brought together 47 participants from 16 countries to examine and gain a better understanding of global and Caspian energy and environment issues. Besides the regional pipeline and energy security developments, participants became acquainted with a wide range of issues such as fundamentals of energy, energy law and economics, environmental issues, management in oil and gas industry, and the strategic outlook of SOCAR.

As usual, BSES participants had a chance to discuss challenging energy issues with leading national and international experts from academic, public and private sectors, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Energy, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, President of the State Oil Fund of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAF), Vice Presidents of SOCAR, etc.

Besides an intensive academic component, the program also provided outstanding recreational opportunities and unique site visits associated with Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry of the past and present, ranging from the Sangachal oil terminal to the world-renowned Nobel Brothers.

Upon completion of the program, participants were issued a certificate signed by the Rector of ADA University and the President of State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic.
